Spotlight on Natasha
Natasha Jeswani, 18
12th Grader
RGVS student since September 2007
"It was the most exciting to go into the studio for the recording and to see how the whole process works and the track comes together. I was also pleasantly surprised by the intimacy of the recording studio because, 1) there weren't tons of people around and 2) the actual recording area was nice and big and comfortable. In addition, I liked the mood lighting because it helped set the tone for the recording. Overall it was an awesome experience to get familiar with a song and ultimately get to sing it in the studio with all the professional equipment. It was a great way to expand my musical horizons and get familiar with the recording process. The recording engineer was very encouraging and gave great advice to improve the recording. It was also interesting to see how different tracks are cut and pasted together to create the final piece."
Natasha is a young lady with a solid head on her shoulders. When she noticed that she wasn't learning much with her previous teacher, she took matters into her own hands and came to take a trial lesson at RGVS. Skeptical at first about our "different" methods, she quickly noticed her voice changing. We introduced her to her chest voice and began to rid her voice of a lot of tension induced from her previous training. She has gained a lot more freedom in her voice overall, and her emerging vocal tone is simply fantastic. Natasha continues to work on freeing up her highest notes, and listening to her sing during lessons feels like a private concert every time. What a voice!
