For the 2010 Live Showcase we decided to raise the bar and select 8 students who had no or very little performing experience and never worked with a live band before. Over the course of 8 weeks we prepared them through individual lessons with their respective teachers as well as a series of workshops to teach them about song interpretation, performance, show elements and how to work with the band. They only had one full band rehearsal one week before the show, and had to perform in a live venue (not a rented space) with cover charge and everything. We hired a top-notch Bay Area band and the RGVS instructors acted as backing vocalists for the students. The venue sold out for the night and everyone had a blast!

Vanaaisha Pamnani, 13 with "Soak Up The Sun", Stephanie Avelar, 15 with "Oh Mother",
and Courtney Farren, 13 with "Emotions".
