Spotlight on Shravanti

Shravanti Shankar, 11
5th Grader
RGVS student since March 2012

"I enjoyed all of it. I was really nervous on the first workshop. I didn't know what everybody would think of my singing. Now I can sing in front of many people and not get scared. I enjoyed meeting a bunch of new people who were all very nice to me. I had no idea how much work it takes to perform a song like this. I never understood until now why you had to fully understand and relate to your song. I remember that whenever Rocío would tell me to dance or take the mic out of the stand, I got so confused. I wanted her to tell me everything and I wanted to know everything that I was doing from head to toe. I didn't know how to have fun while performing and she taught me how to look like I'm enjoying myself and not keep it all bundled inside. I loved the experience and if I could do it again, I certainly would. "

Shravanti followed her sister's footsteps and joined our studio to improve her voice. Though her voice was very tense and nasal at the beginning, even slightly injured, she is a fearless singer. We've helped her retrain her daily vocal habits to heal and avoid further injury, and are now focusing on develping her mixed and head voice to help her get rid of the nasality.
